BSI Standards Awards 2021

The British Standards Institution (BSI) Standards Awards recognise exceptional contributions to standards-making (Standards Makers Awards) or the successful use of voluntary standards to achieve particular outcomes (Standards Users Awards).
The 2021 winners for both the Standards Makers and the Standards Users Awards were announced at the BSI Standards Conference and Awards, held at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane hotel on 18 November. Among the winners was the British Institute for Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT)’s Vice President Simon Mills BScEng CEng CMarEng MIMarEST FInstNDT.
Simon won the award for ‘Education about Standardisation’, which recognises an exceptional contribution in integrating standards and standardisation into higher education curricula and/or promoting student education projects and research around standards.
Simon Mills has been recognised as an outstanding advocate for standards through his ongoing commitment and dedication to the education and development of practitioners within industry, nationally and internationally, for condition monitoring of machine systems, including with the University of Manchester and BINDT. They have worked exceptionally hard to advocate for standards within their various roles, leading training programmes and working to align industry, training and standards.
