Applus hosts staff wellness day for Southern Operations leadership team

15/02/2023

Applus, a worldwide leader in the testing, inspection and certification sector with a presence in more than 70 countries, recognises that its workforce is its best asset and is proud of its diversity and international approach.

Recognising this fact, when the business structure shifted in its approach, Max Eyre, the newly appointed Southern Operations Director (previously HSEQ Director), and Applus UK Managing Director Darren Ghazeleh, arranged a wellness day for the Southern Operations leadership team.

This took the form of a Mind Resilience Masterclass hosted and run by John Dabrowski, a former England basketball player, and nutritional behaviours expert Kate Wall. The intention of the one-day session, held at Luton Town Football Club, was to align strategic thinking for the Southern Operations business. Part of this process, recognising the mental health and wellbeing of the team members, was to combine the day with the Mind Resilience Masterclass, using mindfulness and mind resilience techniques. The strategy is to have a focus on nutritional requirements to better understand and address modern-day business stressors from a holistic approach.

Applus supports mental health welfare by educating and championing processes and strategies to support its employees.
Attendees enjoyed a very successful and thought-provoking team-building session, taking away techniques to help them focus and de-stress. They commented how the discussions made them think about life from a different perspective, to appreciate what they have and to be thankful and positive, all lessons that they can take forward in life.
