Leading international testing equipment manufacturer trains with TWI

When NDT equipment specialist Sonatest wanted to provide its staff with training in advanced inspection techniques, it turned to TWI.TWI Training and Examination Services delivered training covering phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) and time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) for the company’s sales and technical support staff, in order to enhance and extend the breadth of their knowledge. This will enable them to provide even better support for their customer base, which is particularly important following the recent launch of Sonatest’s VEO+ instrument.
The candidates first undertook 40 hours of online learning in PAUT, followed by an intensive 40 hours of classroom-based practical learning where they looked at weld, corrosion and monolithic composite PAUT solutions.
TWI’s Advanced UT Lecturer Neil Harrap commented: “The candidates’ enthusiasm throughout was commendable and I’m sure their service to Sonatest’s customers will benefit from an improved understanding of these advanced methodologies.”
The new Veo+ has been added to TWI Training’s scope of instruments available for the PAUT and TOFD BS EN ISO 9712 certification programme. This means that both existing and potential Sonatest customers can receive expert training and examination in using these products.
