RDT Software launches into NDT reporting marketplace

07/07/2017

RDT Software, a young software start-up based outside Edinburgh, UK, has been going from strength to strength, with its recent client wins including global energy service provider Applus RTD and Aberdeen’s newest large-scale NDT service provider Sonomatic Ltd.

Both Applus RDT, in several of its key bases across the UK, and Sonomatic Aberdeen operate with the RDT Software application NDT Tech. This cloud-based application tool is designed to streamline and modernise inspection reporting using effective, efficient systems, which saves companies both time and money by making inspection a 24/7 solution; far more time and cost efficient compared with the conventional manual, paper-based report and approval process. The system can be set up to run on multiple sites and allows for specialised reporting for upstream clients as well as land-based operators.

The business provides clients with real-time reporting software specifically designed for conventional NDT reporting. Scott Seeley, Director of RDT Software, said: “We have been developing a few systems over the last year and our goal is always to improve the quality and accuracy of reporting, ensure the delivery of reporting and save money for clients. We work alongside the client to develop a reporting flow that can not just manage reports but also include features for document management, user activity, auditor management, inspection controls and financial management. In the end, we want to provide a robust, easy-to-operate, cost-effective method of reporting for clients.”

Barbara McLellan, Project Administrator for Global Energy Group (GEG), said: “This new system has sped up the revision process immensely. It is a big advantage to turn around simple issues in minutes, whereas before it would take hours. Also, it is possible to check the progress of jobs as they are uploaded in the system. The other benefit is that it is now very easy to obtain a duplicate copy if required, whereas before it was a case of sifting through reports scanned by date only. At GEG, it is definitely a time-saving and stress-reducing improvement to the way we liaise with Applus RDT.”

RDT Software will be exhibiting at the Materials Testing Exhibition from 5-7 September 2017.
