Innerspec purchases industrial NDT systems business from Tecnatom-Metalscan

Innerspec Technologies Inc has entered into an agreement to acquire the industrial non-destructive testing systems business from Tecnatom-Metalscan. This acquisition follows the collaboration agreement signed by both companies in 2018, by which Innerspec started manufacturing and selling Tecnatom’s robotic inspection systems for the aerospace industry in North America. 
The agreement will provide Innerspec with a world-class portfolio of systems using phased array ultrasonic testing (UT) and eddy current technologies for the inspection of long products, tubes, plates, billets and welds in tube and pipe. By adding these technologies to its existing electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) and laser vision solutions, Innerspec will consolidate its position as a leader in non-destructive testing systems for factory
environments.
The agreement includes provisions for the joint development of instrumentation and software between Innerspec and Tecnatom to further reinforce the strategic alliance between both companies.
The industrial non-destructive testing systems will be manufactured in Madrid (Spain) and Forest (Virginia, USA) and sold worldwide through the company’s network of offices and representatives.
