BINDT registration with the Engineering Council
25/06/2020
As a member of The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing you can apply for engineering registration with the Engineering Council (EC).As a Licensed Member of the EC, the Institute encourages suitably qualified members to register with it. The Institute can assess those members for admission to the EC register. To the right is a list of successful registrant applications submitted by BINDT to the EC in the period 1 April 2020 to 31 May 2020.
The register has three sections: Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Engineering Technician (EngTech).
All candidates for registration as Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician must satisfy the competence standards set by the EC and be members of the appropriate Licensed Member engineering institution. Applicants must show that they have a satisfactory educational base, have undergone approved professional development and, at interview, must demonstrate their professional competence against specific criteria.
If you hold a PCN Level 2 certificate in any method and meet the criteria for Associate Membership of BINDT, you are eligible for direct entry (no interview required) to register as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) with the EC.
BINDT is cutting the cost of application for Eng Tech registration. For further details, visit the BINDT website.
