North Star Imaging UK technical event
06/03/2020
North Star Imaging (NSI) UK recently added a new dual-tube (225 kV and 450 kV) X5000 CT system to its portfolio and is celebrating the addition of this new system with an X-ray and computed tomography (CT) demonstration in High Wycombe, UK. The technical workshop will include presentations from representatives of Volume Graphics and Instron. NSI UK has been successfully operating in the UK for over five years and will be sharing the benefits of its industrial X-ray imaging services with those who have yet to see its facility and experience the equipment’s full capabilities in real time. The event is taking place on Tuesday 24 March. The facility offers advice and support for existing and new customers who are looking to purchase digital X-ray or CT equipment, as well as supplying inspection services to those who would prefer NSI to carry out the X-ray imaging. Typical inspection service requests are for internal measurements, 3D CAD comparisons, void and/or porosity analysis, surface reconstructions for reverse engineering, finite element analysis and failure analysis.

NSI has nearly 30 years of experience in NDT and manufactures 2D digital radiography and 3D computed tomography equipment along with the development of software used for its systems. The company has a wide product portfolio offering that allows users to increase the size of the computed tomography scans and increase resolution.
CT, unlike conventional X-ray, takes cross-section images and provides a 3D image of the inside and outside of a component.
The technical workshop will not only allow interested parties the opportunity to see North Star Imaging’s demonstration laboratory with live demonstrations of the X5000 CT system, but visitors will also learn about the full product range and receive a tour of Instron’s factory and demonstration laboratory.
NSI will also be joined by representatives from Volume Graphics, who will provide valuable insights into the essential role of CT in digital product lifecycle management and the impressive capabilities of the company’s latest CT software package, VGSTUDIO MAX 3.3. This high-end software has the ability to carry out post-processing tasks, such as dimensional metrology, CT to CAD comparison, porosity, inclusion, defect and fibre material analyses, simulation on voxel data and much more. The Technical Day will run from 10 am to 4 pm. If you are interested in attending, email gtolley@4nsi.com to indicate the number of attendees. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
