V-Guard Industries looks at predictive maintenance in plants

Consumer electricals company V-Guard Industries has told its investors that major IT initiatives are to begin in the first quarter of 2021.

Efforts in innovation, research and development (R&D) and product development will continue to be made in order to roll out differentiated offerings in a competitive industry. The company has products that are connected, controlled and machine-to-machine (M2M) capable and it is bringing capabilities such as machine learning as well. The company is also building auto diagnostics into devices, working on a digital strategy that includes looking at the predictive maintenance in plants, using artificial intelligence (AI).

In addition, the company is focusing on Six Sigma, total productive maintenance (TPM) and lean manufacturing at the nine plants in India. The manufacturing execution system (MES) acts as an enabler for Industry 4.0, providing real-time factory data.
