New horizon for the UKTA
25/04/2023
As of 1 April 2023, the UK Thermography Association (UKTA) is now a standalone association and all ties with the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) have been severed. An extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of the UKTA will be held at the Holiday Inn, Derby (Jct 25, M1) on 4 April 2023 at 10h00.
It was recognised that the UKTA and BINDT no longer have readily identifiable common aims and objectives moving forward. With this in mind, in December 2022 moves were undertaken to separate the two entities. The UKTA, of course, will always have a strong and mutual respect for BINDT and the two organisations could possibly work together in the future on certain projects in their own right.
As both BINDT and the UKTA are now going their separate ways, all previous members of BINDT will need to re-apply to the UKTA for a renewal of their UKTA membership, at which point a revised logo will be issued with a new roll number.
UKTA members will be asked to remove the old logo as it is no longer valid. Unfortunately, membership of the UKTA will no longer be available as a route through BINDT. For renewal or new applications, interested parties should apply directly at www.ukta.org or by email to ukta@ukta.co.uk
Rod Appleyard, Temporary Chair of the UKTA, commented: “I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the UKTA to thank all the staff at BINDT’s head office for their support and back-up over the years, it has been very much appreciated and valued.”
