Pragma appoints new Managing Director for Asset Management Services

Pragma has announced a significant leadership transition at Pragma’s Asset Management Services. 

Nelson Broden has been appointed the new Managing Director, succeeding Attie Nieuwoudt. Attie has made the admirable decision to pursue his passion for community development, passing the baton to an exceptionally competent successor. 

Nelson Broden, whose professional journey started in 2006, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. With an engineering degree and an MBA, Nelson’s asset and maintenance management expertise is broad and deep, covering various industries across Southern Africa. 

His comprehensive experience includes active participation in the Junior Leadership Development Programme and a mentoring initiative during his tenure at Pragma. These programmes equipped him for several leadership roles, where he collaborated closely with his teams to assist clients in unlocking the full potential of their assets. 

Nelson’s specialities are asset and maintenance management, strategy development, business process management, EAMS implementations and optimisation, risk management, project planning and asset and maintenance management training. Beyond his professional endeavours, Nelson is also an avid golfer, bringing a balance of strategic thinking and leisure to his new role.

Backing Nelson is a robust management team overseeing service delivery and client affairs. Edna Jackson is heading up Operations overall, Kobus Brits is managing Mining and Reliability, Heinrich Fouche PrEng is leading the Asset Care Centres in Johannesburg, South Africa, Bernard Marais is overseeing coastal Asset Care Centres, Travers McKitterick is handling Oil & Gas, Shihaam Samodien is managing the Pragma Call Centre and Albert Laubscher is focusing on business analysis and optimisation.
