An RPA ensures that radiation risks are properly assessed, controlled, monitored and documented in accordance with national legislation and best practice.
Under IRR17, employers who undertake work involving ionising radiation must consult a RPA, conduct suitable and sufficient radiation risk assessments, implement appropriate control measures, establish controlled and supervised areas, ensure dose monitoring and record-keeping and provide adequate information, instruction and training.
Failure to comply may result in Health and Safety Executive (HSE) enforcement action, improvement or prohibition notices, financial penalties, reputational damage and increased liability exposure.
HTSL Group’s Radiation Advisor services can ensure that organisations meet these obligations with clarity and confidence.
A UK-wide supplier, HTSL has been supplying radioactive isotopes, non-destructive testing equipment, radiation detection systems, calibration and maintenance services in the UK for over two decades.
