GE Inspection Technologies to acquire phoenix|x-ray

GE Inspection Technologies has signed a definitive agreement to acquire phoenix|x-ray, a leader in high-resolution computed tomography (CT)/X-ray technology used in non-destructive testing (NDT) applications. The transaction, terms of which are not being disclosed, will be completed upon receipt of regulatory approvals.The acquisition will broaden GE's offerings for NDT customers in various industries, including aerospace, power generation, oil & gas and automotive, by adding phoenix|x-ray's innovative 3D CT, micro- and nano-technology systems to GE Inspection Technologies' current X-ray and non-destructive testing portfolio. In addition, phoenix|x-ray's customers in both the industrial and microelectronics segment will benefit from GE's global presence, technology depth and broad range of NDT products, systems and services.

phoenix|x-ray is a manufacturer of high-resolution 2D X-ray inspection systems and 3D computed tomography systems for non-destructive testing. Since its inception in 1999, phoenix|x-ray has grown to employ a global staff of more than 100 employees. The company's headquarters, including production, research and development, are located in Wunstorf, Germany, near the city of Hanover. Additional service centres are located in Stuttgart, Munich, St Petersburg (USA) and Manila (Philippines).
