Silverwing appoints new General Manager

Wayne Woodhead has over 17 years’ experience in the NDT industry and has been responsible for bringing many of Sonatest’s innovative products to market during this time. Starting as a design engineer, Wayne became Managing Director of Sonatest in 2004 and has overseen the introduction of phased array technology and new flaw detector products, resulting in significant growth over the last seven years. He is also very involved in BINDT and is currently Honorary Treasurer and Chair of the Industry Committee.
Wayne brings additional product development, marketing and general management skills to the Silverwing team as it continues to develop its innovative MFL and ultrasonic scanning systems. Wayne is very pleased to be joining Silverwing and told NDT News: “Silverwing has a long history in NDT, a globally respected product portfolio and a thriving service inspection operation. I am very much looking forward to working with the team, especially over the next few months as we release a range of exciting products that will bring even better solutions to the inspection needs of our customers.”

Silverwing, established in 1983, focuses on defect imaging for the oil and petrochemical industries, where high-quality data collection and fast inspections are required. Its Floormap oil storage tank inspection system is said to be the world’s leading MFL floor scanner, and the RMS high-speed ultrasonic scanning system is used by some of the most respected inspection companies.
