TEVA awarded contract at Northern Ireland's largest power station

TEVA, one of the UK’s leading independent condition monitoring services providers, has been awarded a three-year condition monitoring contract at AES Ballylumford.

When your power station generates 50% of Northern Ireland’s electricity and 17% of all Ireland’s, you need maximum plant availability. By utilising the vibration analysis services from TEVA, AES engineers are presented with monthly reports on current plant health and pending future problems.

“During the tendering process, TEVA came to discuss their ideas and their technical capability and their knowledge was impressive,” said John Reid, Maintenance Engineer.

With a local base in Northern Ireland, TEVA could offer a very competitive package at a fixed price. The major benefit of the local base was reduced travel costs from the mainland.

“Right from the first visit we knew we had made the right choice,” explained Reid. “Steve, the Field Service Engineer, listened to our needs and designed a programme to suit… He just comes in and gets on with what’s needed. No mess and no fuss.”

Machine health reports are issued to a distribution team after every visit. Critical items are highlighted before the engineer leaves site.
