Old and new recognised at Branch event

19/02/2013

GE Inspection Technologies attended the recent North East Scotland Branch seminar in Aberdeen and took the opportunity to welcome a new member to the area sales force and recognise the long service of another.

Stephen Kidd has just joined the area sales force and will be responsible for the UT, EC and X-ray film products for Scotland and Northern England.

Stephen previously served in the British Army for nine years, followed by seven years in the oil & gas industry as a Rope Access/NDT Technician, both on and offshore in various parts of the world. “This hands-on experience will be a genuine asset for us as we look to grow our sales in the vital oil & gas sector centred in Aberdeen,” said National Sales Manager, Robin Evans.

At the other end of the scale, John Warner has been an Area Sales Manager with the company for 35 years and Robin Evans presented him with a certificate to commemorate this achievement.

However, there was a remarkable coincidence during the presentation when Stephen noticed that the exact day John joined the company was the day he was born! This fact is guaranteed to make John feel his age, although he insists he was only 12 when he started with Wells Krautkramer in 1977!

So, as Stephen Kidd sets out on a new career, he’ll be able to call on John’s vast experience – a veritable father figure.
