AREVA subsidiary intelligeNDT receives award for innovation

intelligeNDT Systems & Services GmbH has, for the second time, been listed among the top 100 most innovative SMEs (small- and medium-sized enterprises) in Germany by a pan-industrial comparative study, which awarded the company with a Seal of Approval.The authors of the study were particularly impressed by the company's inventiveness, a firm evaluation of potential and the speed at which it is able to implement its ideas.
Friedrich Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of intelligeNDT, sees the Seal of Approval as further proof of the company's strategy, which is based on intelligent products and innovative ideas. "It is particularly satisfying that we continue to grow in the future, not least thanks to the worldwide renaissance in nuclear energy," Mohr told NDT News.
intelligeNDT is based in Erlangen, Germany, and also maintains a site in Karlstein/Main. Its 120 employees are specialised in conducting the mechanised non-destructive examination of a wide variety of materials, especially in the field of nuclear technology. The company has many years of extensive experience in the nuclear industry. It covers the entire range of activities from development and production of ultrasound and eddy current inspection systems, including sensor and electronic manufacturing, to data recording and evaluation software.
intelligeNDT also supplies inspection systems to customers in the aerospace industry, the steel industry and to the Deutsche Bahn AG, which intelligeNDT provides with test systems for inspecting the wheels of high-speed ICE trains. Recently, the company was awarded a contract placed by the aircraft manufacturer Airbus to supply inspection systems for the A350 XWB series, with which intelligeNDT is set to be a strategic partner of Airbus until 2012.
AREVA has broadened the influence of intelligeNDT's creative team by integrating them with American and French engineers into its global non-destructive examination technical centre – NETEC. NETEC's global focus will keep AREVA at the leading edge of innovative and applied NDE technology to serve the company's nuclear power and industrial customers.
