The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) Practitioner Committee has announced the election of a new Chair and Vice Chair, marking the conclusion of a five-year tenure under outgoing Chair Sam Cunningham.
Kyle Duncan has been elected Chair of the Practitioner Committee. He currently serves as Lead NDE Engineer and Senior Technology Expert at TechnipFMC and previously held the position of Group Operations Manager and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level 3 Consultant at Argyll Ruane. Kyle brings a wealth of technical expertise and industry insight to the role.
Peter Glenton has been appointed Vice Chair. Peter is a Senior NDE Engineer at Babcock International and was honoured with the BINDT Practitioner Award in 2023, recognising his outstanding contributions, technical expertise and dedication to practical excellence in the field of non-destructive testing. His hands-on experience and leadership within the practitioner community position him exceptionally well for this role.
The Practitioner Committee extends its appreciation to Sam Cunningham for the progress achieved during his tenure. Under the guidance of Sam, the committee strengthened its influence within the Institute and championed practitioner-led initiatives.
Looking ahead, Kyle and Peter are committed to building on this foundation with a focus on expanding practitioner engagement, fostering open dialogue and actively gathering feedback from across the NDT community. Their leadership will ensure the committee is accountable and represents practitioners effectively at Council level, driving forward the Institute’s strategic aims with practitioners firmly at the heart of every decision.
