SGS releases PCN and SNT training schedule for 2010

01/03/2010

Non-Destructive Testing assures that components and operational systems perform their functions in a reliable, safe and cost-effective manner. However, investigative reports following disasters and catastrophes often highlight insufficient NDT techniques being employed, both at the manufacturing stage and during the service life of the products.

Due to the high demand for highly qualified NDT personnel and in order to improve the reputation of NDT technicians, SGS regularly offers internationally recognised training and certification services in non-destructive testing in China. The training and examinations are in accordance with European, International and American standards such as EN 473, ISO 9712 and ASNT, with a particular focus on the extensive training syllabus for all basic
non-destructive testing methods. The NDT courses also offer Personnel Certification (PCN) issued by The British Institute of NDT.

Non-destructive testing is divided into various techniques based on different scientific principles. Choosing the right method and technique for certain products is an important part of the performance of NDT. Therefore, SGS has developed an extensive programme of PCN and SNT training courses for 2010 for Levels 1, 2 and 3:
  • Radiographic Inspection and Interpretation.
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing.
  • Magnetic Particle Testing.
  • Ultrasonic Testing.
  • Visual Inspection.
  • Time-of-Flight Diffraction.

The courses are scheduled throughout 2010 and will be held at the Shanghai SGS NDT Training and Examination Center or, by special request, at an individual company's premises.
