Siemens launches Simocode M-CP

Siemens has launched Simocode M-CP, a motor management product series tailored for motor control centres (MCCs) that complements the existing Simocode portfolio.

Simocode M-CP can be adapted to different operational requirements by purchasing licences that enable additional functions depending on the application. An example is the integration of condition monitoring directly into the motor management system, which eliminates the need for separate sensors.

The device can be mounted on a front panel or a DIN rail. Six digital inputs and four relay outputs eliminate the need for additional modules. It uses single-pair Ethernet (SPE) technology and fulfils the needs of switchboard operations, while reducing wiring complexity with its thin, two-core cables. Communication in the withdrawable unit is enabled via just two wires.

Key parameters can be monitored using the motor along with current and voltage measurement modules, simplifying the set-up. By purchasing a licence, users can activate the provision of data through Simocode M-CP for advanced features for motor current signature analyses or the employment of artificial intelligence (AI) for detecting anomalies and damage in motors and machines.
