Smart Manufacturing Week to celebrate best in UK manufacturing and engineering excellence and innovation

On 4-5 June 2025, the NEC Birmingham will play host to the UK’s largest festival of advanced manufacturing and engineering. Smart Manufacturing Week (SMW) brings together a powerful line-up of events, including Smart Factory Expo, Maintec, Drives & Controls, Design + Engineering Expo and the Air-Tech and Fluid Power and Systems zones.Building on the success of the 2024 event, which attracted 13,500 visitors, more than 450 exhibitors and 200 speakers, SMW 2025 is poised to deliver an even larger and more transformative event, with more international manufacturers and engineers expected to visit this year.
At the heart of the show is Maintec, the UK’s longest running event dedicated to maintenance, reliability, testing and asset management. It is firmly established as the go-to event focused on driving uptime and the tools, innovation, technology and people that support it.
The free educational programme has seven theatres dedicated to a wide array of topics, including digital transformation, industrial data and artificial intelligence (AI), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and connectivity, design and innovation, automation and robotics, leadership and strategy, and maintenance, along with the technology showcase arena, where visitors can see and get their hands on cutting-edge innovations.
On the fun side, the Guitar Legends competition will make a return, with a 3D printed guitar to be awarded to the winner, and The Shadow Monkeys will return with their signature high-energy and crowd-pleasing hits to close out the first evening’s visitor party.
