Oceanscan invests in latest technologies from Eddyfi

Continuing Oceanscan’s commitment to provide the very latest technology, substantial investments have recently been made in the latest offering from Eddyfi, including the new Lyft pulsed eddy current (PEC) system.

Corrosion under insulation is one of the petrochemical processing industry’s most difficult problems and costs associated to mitigating it are high. Along with CUI inspection, the Lyft system also lends itself to the inspection of caissons, vessel skirts, columns and splash zones.

In addition to Lyft, Oceanscan has also added the Ectane system to its rental pool. Ectane, already a long-established industry-recognised leader for tube inspection and eddy current array, is available for rental with added 24/7 support and guidance from Oceanscan’s highly-skilled sales and engineering teams.

Oceanscan recently hosted a training event focused on Lyft at its Aberdeen headquarters. The event was to train staff on the equipment and provide them with a deeper knowledge and better understanding of the advantages and limitations of the technologies.

Oceanscan’s Sales and Marketing Manager Jonathan Bancroft said: “We are delighted to be able to call ourselves Eddyfi’s preferred rental partner. This relationship reinforces our strong foothold in the industry and we are very keen to grow the market together.

“The training provided by Laurent Rouff, Eddyfi Sales Manager, was extremely informative and enables us to have a depth of knowledge and range of skills to efficiently use Lyft. There were also plenty of practical opportunities to use the system in earnest on unique test-pieces.”

Renting the necessary equipment for the job can be a cost-effective way to ensure access to the very latest and most advanced equipment, a very important factor in current conditions.
