Trinity Consultants, a Dallas-headquartered environmental consultancy, has acquired Valcoustics Canada, a Toronto-based acoustical engineering firm.
Founded in 1954, Valcoustics provides acoustic engineering services in residential land use planning, environmental compliance and architectural applications. The firm has offerings across building noise and vibration, construction noise and vibration monitoring, wind turbine noise assessment and monitoring, theatre and studio acoustic design and environmental noise and vibration studies.
Valcoustics has over 20 staff providing services to architects, engineers, planners, developers, builders, manufacturers, industry, law firms and all levels of government.
Valcoustics will join Trinity’s built environment division. In November last year, Trinity bolstered its North American acoustical practice with the acquisition of Longman Lindsey, a 19-person specialist firm. In 2022, Trinity bought Cerami, a New York-based acoustical consultancy with over 80 employees.
“Valcoustics shares our dedication to helping clients unearth hidden acoustic and technical possibilities and pursue practical solutions,” said Jim Perry, Managing Director at Trinity Cerami. “The company’s superior reputation, commitment to quality and synergistic organisational structure will be a strategic asset to Trinity as we take the next step in our growth plan.”
Al Lightstone, Michael Lightstone, John Emeljanow and the rest of Valcoustics’ leadership team will join the built environment leadership team at Trinity.
“This partnership allows us to expand our geographic footprint, increase our technical expertise, diversify our client portfolio, create opportunities for career development and advancement and better serve our staff and clients in Toronto and across the globe,” said Al Lightstone.
Trinity has over 1000 professionals across more than 70 offices in the North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. It provides environmental health and safety (EHS), engineering and science-focused consulting, technology, training and staffing services to clients in the industrial, energy, manufacturing, mining, life sciences and commercial/institutional sectors.
