Applus+ RTD strengthens its strategic position with the takeover of RMI

Applus+ RTD, which specialises in non-destructive testing and inspections, has taken over the Norwegian company RMI a/s (Rogaland Material Inspeksjon).

Applus+ RTD is a division of Applus+, the leading Spanish multinational in certification and technological services chaired by Ernesto Mata. "This takeover fits in with Applus+ RTD's growth strategy, which is aimed at strengthening its position as one of the market leaders," said a spokesman. RMI is also specialised in the field of non-destructive testing in the pertrochemical and energy sector.

The company, RMI, which has an office in Stavangar in Norway, provides innovative NDT services for its clients. RMI focuses on onshore as well as offshore activities in the NDT field, and works for the main companies from the petrochemical and resources sector, as well as companies from the public sector.

The management of RMI, Morten Bruno Larsen, Odd Reidar Bjorheim and John David Winn, will stay on in the company that will be part of the specialised offshore NDT division of Applus+ RTD.
In April 2006, Applus+ acquired 100% of the Dutch group Röntgen Technische Dienst (RTD), the European leader in petrochemical sector inspection, for 193 million euros.

Applus+ RTD has offices in Europe, Africa, Asia and America and its business is focused on the inspection and maintenance of industrial facilities. It is specialised in performing non-destructive tests and inspections to secure the quality and integrity of technical facilities.
