TEG meeting

The TEG Group, which represents all BINDT-accredited trainers and PCN AQBs (Authorised Qualifying Bodies), met at Argyll-Ruane Ltd, Rotherham Centre, on 7 October 2010.Some sixteen representatives of the trainers/examiners attended, including Argyll-Ruane, ANDTc (South Africa), Aberdeen NDE Centre, Lavender International, TWI, Oceaneering, MOD, Serco and SGS (China). In addition, representatives from BINDT covering education, certification and accreditation plus NANDTB (National Aerospace NDT Board) representatives attended.
The agenda was wide-ranging, covering PCN syllabuses (ie Z1), PCN developments, changes to the BINDT accreditation documentation, British Accreditation Council (BAC) criteria, NVQ/Engineering Council issues, University of Northampton degree issues, recognition of ASNT Level III exemptions into PCN, marketing materials for PCN, codes/standards, the implications for the trainers/users of the issues relating to online certification, PCN levy pricing, NANDTB requirements and a revised code of practice for trainers/examiners.
