New network for terahertz community

14/11/2025

A network for the terahertz community has been established in the UK, aimed at strengthening links with European researchers that are active in this area.

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) NetworkPlus in THz Systems will act as the UK’s central hub for collaboration in THz science, devices, systems and applications, linking academic researchers, industry and international partners. The THz Network contains six special interest groups (SIGs) covering different areas of THz activities, one of which is a SIG on
non-destructive testing.

The NDT SIG will hold a mixture of in-person and online meetings and produce a quarterly newsletter. It also plans to organise showcase events presenting THz to the wider non-destructive testing community.

The NDT SIG will collaborate closely with the THz User Group at BINDT to foster connections and cooperation between the NDT industry and academic THz research and development.
