Silverwing opens Houston facility

Silverwing, a global leader in advanced inspection equipment for storage tanks, pipes and vessels, has opened a technical sales office in Houston, Texas, and appointed Terry Lucas as Vice President.
Silverwing has over 30 years’ experience in developing MFL-based inspection tools, and over the last five years has introduced ultrasonic corrosion mapping scanning systems. These are used by the world’s most respected inspection companies, including many US operators, improving both the quality and efficiency of inspections.Group CEO, Wayne Woodhead, commented: “The US is a key market for us and we believe the latest advances in MFL and ultrasonic product development can add significant benefit to asset owners and inspection companies here. Silverwing understands that users need a fast response and high level of support when deploying systems, which our new facility will provide.“
Terry Lucas joins the company from Intech in Canada and has a wealth of experience as both an NDT contractor and sales professional. Terry has used Silverwing Floormap systems for many years and gained an in-depth knowledge of tank inspection. His technical knowledge and industry experience enables him to support the products and also advise on tank inspection operational requirements.
The new facility has a full range of products and a demonstration area for product evaluation. Product training will be delivered by Silverwing in Houston, or at the customer’s premises as required. Floormap, MFL and RMS ultrasonic systems include four days’ training on purchase.
Silverwing will be exhibiting the latest advancements in MFL and ultrasonic inspection systems at the API Tank Conference, San Francisco, and ASNT, Las Vegas.
