Inspection Engineer

An Inspection Engineer (CAT 4) is sought to cover the southern region (UK) on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be part of an energetic and driven team and will be expected to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues on multiple projects in a supportive, progressive environment. 

The role:

The Inspection Engineer will report to the Local Head of Department/Team Leader or a team of inspection staff dealing with the inspection of pressurised static equipment, for example vessels, tanks, piping and relief devices, to meet regulatory and client requirements. For larger shutdowns, the successful candidate is required to coordinate their work with other inspectors. For repairs and fitness for service, the successful candidate coordinates with the CAT 2 Inspection Engineer and Functional Engineers to define the optimum solution.

Requirements:

• Trained/qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
• At least five years’ experience working within a relevant engineering discipline, for example a Mechanical Technician
• Experience with non-destructive examination techniques 
• Experience with pressure equipment
• Engineering Technician (EngTech) status is desirable
• Mechanical engineering background (chemical and/or oil & gas sectors are desirable)
• Excellent communication skills with an eye for detail
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
