An Inspector/Level 2 NDT Technician is sought.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carrying out first-off inspection (coordinate measuring machine (CMM)/manual/receipt inspection/inspection and calibration activities as required to support operations
  • Running CMM programmes: analysing and recording results and making appropriate quality decisions
  • Maintaining the integrity of CMM programmes, ensuring programmes are maintained and stored correctly
  • Supporting the internal non-conformance process; raising rejects and ensuring all containment is captured
  • Liaising closely with the engineering team to ensure the smooth transition of new products and new product introduction (NPI)
  • Completing flexible, accurate, integrated and reliable (FAIR) packs by means of CMM/manual inspection
  • Performing inspection operations (magnetic particle inspection (MPI), dye penetrant inspection (DPI) and visual) in accordance with procedures
  • Ensuring non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment is maintained and suitable for the operation
  • Conducting control checks and testing in accordance with procedures
  • Interpreting and evaluating test results against defined acceptance standards
  • Generating work instructions in preparation for Level 3 approval
  • Managing the workflow to meet production requirements
  • Preparing and authorising product test reports
  • Achieving and maintaining 
    Level 2 approval in the relevant NDT method to ensure cover 
  • Conducting testing and inspections to ensure product is conforming to customer product specifications and definitions
  • Ensuring parts are processed in accordance with business work priorities on a timely basis
  • Working to production timelines in a manufacturing environment
  • Working with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company- specific documentation.

Requirements:

  • Five years’ experience in the aerospace/automotive industry in a similar role
  • Level 2 NDT certificate in penetrant inspection
  • Self-driven and results orientated, with a positive outlook
  • Able to get on with others and be a team player
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

This role is a full-time position. The shift pattern is 46.40 hours, with night-shift hours of 6.00 pm-6.00 am, Monday to Thursday.
