Two NDT Engineers are sought to join a market-leading inspecting and testing company to work for one of its clients on the Wirral, Merseyside. One of the positions will specialise in ultrasonic testing (UT) (Level 2) and the other is more multi-disciplined (UT, phased array and eddy current testing) and requires security clearance due to the highly confidential projects the successful candidate will be working on.
The roles will require attendance on site from Monday-Friday; however, the successful candidate will be expected to be reactive to projects that will involve onshore/UK and offshore work, which means there is the potential to be away from home for a number of weeks at a time depending on the length of the project.Responsibilities:- Execute corrosion mapping and welding inspection
- Conduct ultrasonic and eddy current testing methods on marine, offshore structures and plant equipment
- Create detailed technical reports for corrosion mapping and for customers. This must be written to a high quality due to the customers that the successful candidates will be working with
- Assist with equipment checks, calibrations and competency tasks
- Perform tasks with due diligence, ensuring they are in line with quality management systems, industry standards and client specifications
- Identify any potential issues or non-conformances
- Perform technical demonstrations, project work and informative technical pieces to new and key clients.
Requirements:- Previous experience in a nondestructive testing (NDT) position, for example PCN Level 2 ultrasonic testing in castings, forgings and welds
- Experienced with eddy current testing
- The successful candidates must be flexible to travel (within the UK and internationally) and be reactive to short-notice trips
- Possess an excellent understanding of advanced NDT methods
- Experience in corrosion mapping surveys
- Experience within the marine, offshore, oil & gas or energy industries
- Experience of interpreting schematics
- Possess a UK driving licence
- Highly motivated
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary:
- The salary for this role is £40,000-£45,000 with £120 per day for onshore work and £175 per day for offshore work.
