A Quality Inspector/Level 2 NDT Technician is sought.

The role:
Inspection:
  • Carry out first-off inspection (coordinate measuring machine (CMM)/manual)/receipt inspection/inspection and calibration activities as required to support operations
  • Run CMM programmes, analysing and recording results and making appropriate quality decisions
  • Maintain the integrity of CMM programmes, ensuring programmes are maintained and stored correctly
  • Support the internal non-conformance process, raising rejects and ensuring all containment is captured
  • Liaise closely with engineering to ensure the smooth transition of new products
  • New product introduction (NPI)
  • Completion of first article inspection report (FAIR) packs by means of CMM/manual inspection.

NDT:

  • Perform inspection operations (magnetic particle inspection (MPI), dye penetrant inspection (DPI) and visual) in accordance with procedures
  • Ensure NDT equipment is maintained and suitable for operation
  • Conduct control checks and tests in accordance with procedures
  • Interpret and evaluate test results against defined acceptance standards
  • Generate work instructions in preparation for Level 3 approval
  • Manage workflow to meet production requirements
  • Prepare and authorise product test reports
  • Achieve and maintain Level 2 approval in the relevant NDT  method
  • Conduct test and inspections to ensure the product is conforming to customer product specifications and definitions
  • Ensure parts are processed in accordance with business work priorities on a timely basis.

Requirements:

  • Five years’ experience in the aerospace/automotive industry in a similar role
  • Level 2 NDT certificate in penetrant inspection
  • Ability to work with production timelines in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company-specific documentation
  • Self-driven and results orientated with a positive outlook
  • Ability to get on with others and be a team player
  • Attention to detail and accuracy at all times
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to manage workload effectively, prioritising where necessary.

Shift pattern:

  • This role involves a 46.40-hour week on the night shift, working Monday to Thursday from 6.00 pm to
    6.00 am.
