Quality Inspector

A well-established machine shop with multiple computer numerical control (CNC) machining centres and specialising in precision engineering is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to lead its measuring activities and ensure the highest standards of quality.

• The successful Quality Inspector will oversee all measuring activities within the machine shop’s metrology department. The primary responsibility will be to manage the measurement of machined parts using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The successful candidate will work closely with the quality team to ensure that production parts meet drawing requirements and adhere to inspection schedules.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain measurement programs using computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Interpret customer 3D models and drawings to create accurate measurement programs
• Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain proper documentation
• Collaborate with colleagues, customers and suppliers to communicate technical information effectively
• Ensure compliance with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) standards
• Familiarity with quality management systems
• Optional knowledge of visual inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT).

Qualifications and skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid driving licence
• Previous experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment is advantageous
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to make informed decisions
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new software tools (training is provided).
