Senior Engineer – Vehicles (NDT)

We have an opportunity for a role within our Technical Services Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team for an experienced NDT Engineer.

Your role will be fulfilling a delivery assignment split between providing frontline testing on the assets, as well as being a technical expert in non-destructive testing to whom other engineers will come to for advice and solutions. As a Senior Engineer, you will be expected to coach and mentor Junior Engineers and apprentices to help ensure our team's overall skills, knowledge and experience capability is aligned with our future demand.

Day to day, your focus will be on delivering engineering activities that deliver NDT services that will keep vital assets safe and in service, as well as keeping projects moving. You will be involved in undertaking these tasks directly, and you need to demonstrate a deep understanding of how they are carried out so that you can provide trusted engineering advice to everyone that comes to you, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.

• Holds four or more Level 2 PCN certifications or equivalent (must hold MPI, DPI and EC)
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Competent to perform NDT in accordance with NDT procedures and standards
• Capable of interpreting and evaluating results according to applicable standards, codes, specifications or procedures
• Flexible to work across all TfL sites within the London area
• Ability to translate NDT codes, standards, specifications and procedures into NDT instructions adapted to the specific working conditions.
