The PragmaFlex system is a portable inspection platform developed to align with NDE 4.0 principles, enabling a more intelligent and connected approach to non-destructive evaluation. It supports multiple modalities, including phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) and eddy current array (ECA), and is powered by the integrated Pragma3D software for advanced 3D data acquisition, visualisation and data fusion.

A key capability is its integration with six degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) positioning systems such as Hexagon coordinate measuring machine (CMM) arms, vision encoders and laser trackers. This allows for precise spatial mapping of defects within a component’s coordinate system and facilitates digital twin creation, enhancing inspection reliability in sectors such as aerospace and manufacturing.

For ultrasonic testing, Pragma3D enables multi-modal data overlays, fusing PAUT data with results from other techniques such as ECA and projecting this information directly onto computer-aided design (CAD) models. This provides comprehensive 3D visualisation of both internal and surface conditions, significantly improving defect characterisation and assessment.

PragmaFlex represents a key advancement for industries seeking to adopt more automated, data-centric NDT solutions that improve insight, traceability and decision-making.
