Distinguished overview speaker: Signal Lab – Artificial intelligence and advanced signal processing in applied research: real-world applications from industry to space
R Martinek
Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and signal processing technologies is opening up entirely new possibilities for solving complex challenges across various domains. This invited talk will present key real-world applications developed at Signal Lab, Technical University of Ostrava, where advanced methods of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and digital signal processing are integrated into practical solutions.
The lecture will explore successful implementations of these technologies in industrial automation, predictive maintenance, healthcare diagnostics, intelligent sensing systems and space-related experiments. Emphasis will be placed on translational research that bridges the gap between academic innovation and real-world deployment. Attendees will gain insights into how tailored AI models and smart sensor systems are developed, validated and transferred into operational environments, from smart factories and medical devices to experimental payloads destined for the International Space Station.
The presentation will also highlight the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, the role of national and international research projects and the commercialisation of academic results through spin-offs. Signal Lab’s approach serves as a model for applied research with high societal and technological impact.
