Founded in 2018, Novosound specialises in the design and manufacture of NDT products using an innovative thin-film manufacturing technique that addresses the limitations of traditional ultrasound manufacturing.

Novosound's NDT products - the Kelpie, Belenus and Nebula - increase the safety and efficiency of inspection and asset monitoring for a range of industries, including energy, aviation and power generation.

The Kelpie’s flexible, ultra-low-profile design combined with its high-resolution imaging capabilities enables the inspection and corrosion mapping of difficult geometries where conventional ultrasonic arrays would struggle. Providing enhanced surface conformance to small-diameter piping, uneven surfaces and complex components, the Kelpie enables simple, efficient and accurate inspection and corrosion mapping across a range of critical assets.

Named ‘MP Corrosion Innovation of the Year 2021’, the Novosound Belenus is a simple, smart ultrasound sensor that enables 24/7 corrosion monitoring in the most difficult, challenging and safety-critical environments. Capable of continuous operation up to 400°C, the Belenus is the world’s first corrosion monitoring sensor that can operate completely soaked in high-temperature and extreme environments for extended periods of time. By delivering high-quality and accurate data from remote and high-temperature areas, the Belenus allows customers to proactively monitor corrosion and carry out more efficient maintenance planning.

Novosound also manufactures high-resolution probes for scanning acoustic microscopy, industrial inspection and medical imaging applications. Featuring a number of customisable parameters, Novosound probes can be modified to suit customer requirements for a variety of imaging applications.
