IMechE Engineering Training Solutions to expand online training provision

11/04/2017

Following on from the successful launch of the online PCN Level 3 (Basic) (Parts A and B) course that has been running since the summer of 2016, IMechE Engineering Training Solutions will soon be able to offer Part C, with volumetric methods (radiographic and ultrasonic) launching in Summer 2017 and surface inspection methods (magnetic particle, penetrant dye, visual and eddy current) available from Autumn 2017.

Further to this, until January 2018, all students enrolling on a relevant course at the IMechE Engineering Training Centre in Sheffield will receive free access to online product technology pre-learning material before starting their course, enabling them to prepare for the course at their own convenience. This will provide students with the significant benefits of being able to understand more comprehensively certain aspects of the curriculum and devote extra time to certain areas.

Online and blended learning training courses provide students with the opportunity to study at their own time and location, be it at home, on site or at their usual place of work. Not only will students and their organisations realise time and cost savings, but they will be able to work through the syllabus at their own pace, improving their understanding of the subject.

IMechE Engineering Training Solutions’ Learning Management System provides a high-quality virtual learning environment with detailed course notes, videos, images and assessments that are able to be repeated to assist in the student’s understanding of the subject matter. Those enrolled on an online course also have access to the online forum, replicating the classroom experience of interacting with their peers and providing direct contact with a dedicated tutor for any questions.

Enrolment is completely flexible and students have access to the programme for up to four weeks to complete the course, allowing correlation with Level 3 main method dates that are available on 3 April, 19 June, 28 August and 13 November 2017.
