Five members of the team at Pexa have been presented with NVQ certificates. The company, based in Holywell Green, is a specialist supplier of high-tech surface finishing materials to the aerospace industry. It is one of the only aerospace businesses located in West Yorkshire. As part of Pexa’s programme to improve the skills of its team and encourage them to aim for nationally-recognised qualifications, Pexa encouraged five of them to complete Intermediate Level Apprenticeships and NVQ Level 2 qualifications. Four team leaders have now completed an NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading with Level 1 certification in ICT, maths and English with Slic training and one team member has completed his apprenticeship with NVQ Level 2 in Warehousing and Storage with Skills for Logistics.

The certificates were presented by Bridget Wood, from Slic Training, and Jim Rowbotham, Pexa’s Managing Director, who said: “We are really pleased and proud that our team members have committed themselves to achieving these qualifications and managed to fit the extra work in around their normal duties. They have all passed every module with flying colours and will no doubt bring the benefits of that enthusiasm and their new skills to Pexa and our customers.”
