Aerotech Inspection and NDT expands into India

As a result of already providing testing and inspection services to a major UK manufacturer on products produced in India, Aerotech Inspection and NDT has announced the opening of its new testing facility in Dharwad, India.From here, the company will provide a more local and comprehensive support for its UK customer and also use it as a base to offer its services to a wider market in India.
The new company, known as Aerotech Inspection and NDT (India) PVT Ltd, will be managed by Mr Somnath Jagtap, a very experienced and highly-qualified NDT and auditing professional. Along with other qualifications, Somnath currently holds ASNT Level III certification in six NDT disciplines, with experience in a variety of industry sectors ranging from heavy metal forming to on-wing aerospace applications.From the start, the radiographic functions of the facility are being totally designed around digital technology; there will be no wet film processing involved.
The radiographic systems at the new facility will feature GE CR Flex II systems, similar to those already in operation at the Cradley Heath, West Midlands, laboratory, where the Digital Radiography Manager, Duncan Clarke, will familiarise Somnath with the technology and the Aerotech procedures relating to these systems, prior to him undertaking formal EN 4179/NAS 410 certification.
