  William Gardner Award (Best Student Paper Award)

This award is intended to encourage students and people in the early stage (first five years) of their career in the field of NDT. This is an open award for members and non-members of BINDT.

To apply for this award you can fill out the form below.


The winning paper will be selected based on both the quality of the paper and the presentation. The winner will be awarded a certificate, a cash sum of £300 and free institute membership for one year (for the presenting author only) at the appropriate grade.

In order to qualify for this award it can be anyone who is either a student or within the first five years of full-time employment, who presents a paper at the NDT Annual Conference and has their paper published in the Proceedings. The student must notify the conference organisers when submitting their paper that they meet the criteria.

Please note this award is presented at the closing ceremony at the conference.
