Bilfinger Salamis UK’s Managing Director Sandy Bonner has taken up a Leadership Team position with industry safety body Step Change in Safety.

The team is responsible for planning and monitoring the activities of Step Change in Safety, the not-for-profit body that works to raise oil & gas industry standards and share good safety practice.

Mr Bonner commented: “I look forward to actively contributing to Step Change in Safety’s extensive initiatives and industry-leading tools. At Bilfinger, we have a large and diverse workforce, with over 2000 employees working across the North Sea, and I am keen to ensure that our employees fully play their part in collaborating and sharing best practice across all services and disciplines.”

The Step Change in Safety Leadership Team includes senior managers and officials from member companies, industry-related trade associations, trade unions and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), along with the onshore and offshore workforce.

Mr Bonner’s appointment coincides with two other significant appointments for Step Change in Safety. Rhona Flin, Professor of Industrial Psychology at Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University (RGU), and Peter Wilson, Vice President, Europe & Mediterranean, Valaris, have both joined the Board.
