Hall-effect thickness gauge

13/01/2020

Danatronics has launched its latest product in thickness gauging. Unlike all of its current thickness gauges, which use ultrasound to take readings, the MTG-99 magnetic thickness gauge utilises the Hall effect to non-destructively and accurately measure material thickness.

Typical applications include plastic bottles, covering multi-layer and containers, preforms, microwave trays, composites and fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP), glass containers, ceramics, titanium and aluminium materials, such as tubes and cans, and plastic toys.

The MTG-99 offers many features and competitive advantages when compared to some other units on the market; including being smaller, lighter and easier to use, having a lower price point and being able to change colour and vibrate on alarm. A battery with 16 h of operation and rubber boot with heavy duty stand are included. It features an internal multi-file data logger with a standard interface program to send readings to Excel, more memory than previous models and its raised rubber keypad enables one-thumb operation. Replacement probes are available at a lower price. It is also available with internal Bluetooth, footswitch and RS-232 options.
