Further expansion at Euroteck

03/07/2014

With the company experiencing continued growth in its X-ray business and several new agency agreements recently signed, including one for automated ultrasonic systems, Euroteck had no option but to further expand its Tamworth headquarters with the acquisition of an additional 3500 sq ft of factory and office space on the same industrial estate, taking the total factory and office space for the business up to more than 6000 sq ft.

The new facility includes offices, warehousing and manufacturing. In addition, an area has been allocated for a training school facility and sales demonstration area for computed radiography, digital radiography and real-time radiographic inspection. The new facility also has a 160 kV 3 kW CP X-ray capability so that clients are able to send sample parts for evaluation and receive back digital images and movies of their samples in a very short time.

The additional facility will allow clients to send their staff for product training on CR and DR, with the added benefit that they will be able to bring their own products with them and develop part-specific radiographic techniques as part of the training programme. This allows a company to easily implement the change from conventional film to CR with the minimum of disruption to the business, since most of the preparatory work can be completed before the CR system is delivered.

A series of ‘advanced’ CR and DR classes will be provided later this year by Dürr NDT specialist trainers for Dürr D-Tect software owners.

Training courses will also be provided in accordance with ASNT certification in CR and DR as per SNT-TC-1A, qualifying for 10 points towards ASNT renewals.

All training courses are split between classroom instruction and laboratory practical work using CR, DR and real-time X-ray. Sample pieces are available in a range of materials, including carbon composites, aluminium castings and welded components in various metals. If a client has a particular sample they would like to include in the training course, this can usually be accommodated.

All delegates receive a free copy of the Dürr D-Tect viewing software as part of the training course materials package.

The CR, DR and real-time radiographic facilities are also available for hire on an hourly basis and a number of companies, including three of the current F1 race teams, have been taking advantage of this rather unique and valuable radiographic resource for some time.
