Technology Design in Bordeaux

An informal invitation from Anne-Marie Roy, Vice President of the French Federation for NDT (COFREND), at the BINDT exhibition in 2013 resulted in Technology Design (TD) presenting its products as an independent exhibitor at the COFREND exhibition at the Palais des Congrès, Bordeaux, in May 2014. The prime location of TD’s booth ensured a steady progression of visitors from many industrial sectors and countries, including several French-speaking North African regions. Somewhat apprehensive at the possible language barrier, the exhibition team found that they were able to communicate with most visitors quite well, even in the absence of a conversationally-common language.
The TD Corrosion Mapping Kit, compatible with all of Technology Design’s ultrasonic acquisition systems, generated more interest than expected; the concept of simple contactless scanner mechanics gained attention from both composites and process plant industry representatives. TD’s user-friendly software and simple-yet-powerful analysis tools for phased array, TOFD and corrosion mapping were a strong point of discussion.New contacts and relationships were forged, old acquaintances were renewed and existing customers were eager for information about different TD products and future possibilities. France is firmly in Technology Design’s sights for wider exposure and a bright future.
