15/07/2016

On 11 and 12 May 2016, 140 participants gathered for a two-day non-destructive testing knowledge-sharing conference in a unique environment at St Michael Cinema in St Michael, Minnesota, USA.

“Our 30th Anniversary Symposium was a celebration and an affirmation that North Star Imaging (NSI) will continue to innovate and grow stronger for many more years to come,” said Wes Wren, Global Sales Director at North Star Imaging.

Industry leaders and users of NSI’s NDT technology presented their key learnings and discoveries on how they have used industrial X-ray and computed tomography equipment and software, as well as the results of their findings. These exchanges between presenters, NSI ASNT Level III experts and other participants created an easy flow of discussions on topics relevant to various industries.

Blake Chenevert, President of Delphi Precision Imaging, said: “It was an excellent symposium! I was very impressed with the quality of the venue, the topics discussed, the professionalism and friendliness of NSI’s personnel and the attendees.”

North Star Imaging began in the field of industrial X-ray testing in 1986 in Minnesota. The company built its first digital radiography equipment in 1991 and its first computed tomography system in 2002. From 2006, NSI widened its services and added an Inspection Services Group, offering need-based consulting for anyone requiring X-ray and/or computed tomography scanning.

In 2010, the company was acquired by ITW, a global multibillion-dollar company with 51,000 employees across 56 countries. With ITW’s backing, NSI gained even more strength and doubled the size of its facility in Minnesota. The company added other sites in Paris, France, in 2012 and the UK and Irvine (CA) in 2015. In 2016, a new site will emerge in Suzhou (China).
