Dual-element ultrasonic transducer
22/03/2021
Launched in April 2020, Ionix’s new HotSense™ HS582i enables high-temperature in-service thickness and corrosion measurements and surveys for use in applications across refining, oil & gas, energy, nuclear, aerospace and process sectors, helping to reduce inspection time with no duty cycling and robust calibration.Built on the award-winning HotSense ultrasonic platform powered by Ionix’s HPZ piezoceramic, HS582i includes the following benefits:
- Dual-element thickness gauging transducer for use across a −55°C to +550°C temperature range for in-service assets
- Measures remaining wall thickness down to 1 mm in steel with compatible gauges
- Compatible with industry-standard UT gauges and flaw detectors
- Meets the requirements of EN 12668:2 and ASTM E1065
- Reduces inspection time with no duty cycling or cooling up to 350°C
- Retains calibration at temperature for better data with 2× increased wear resistance for corrosion surveys and mapping
- Provides asset integrity intelligence without shutdowns or outages.
A range of accessories is available for port inspection and scanning.
Ionix has developed a variety of proprietary high-performance piezoelectric materials that can operate in extreme environments, enabling it to supply sensors, actuators and transducers that address applications and markets not accessible to existing piezoelectric technologies and systems. Ionix also offers condition monitoring and non-destructive testing services.
