CR and DR training for ASNT Level III personnel

20/05/2015

Euroteck and DÜRR NDT will deliver a series of one week (40 hour) training courses according to the ASNT Level III renewal programme at its offices and factory in Tamworth. The first training course is scheduled for the week commencing 8 June 2015.

ASNT NDT certificate holders are permitted to renew by points at five-year intervals, unless recertification by examination is required by another third party. Renewal by points is claimed by submitting documentation indicating that certain requirements have been met and examination is not required. The ASNT NDT Level III programme permits ASNT Level III certificate holders to renew by points at five-year intervals. The points system requires that certificate holders earn 25 points during their current five-year certification period for NDT-related activities. Attendees of the training course (of 40 hours theoretical and hands-on training) can apply those training hours for ASNT NDT Level III recertification points, up to the 10-point limit shown for Category B on the points table on page 5 of the Level III recertification application form. All attendees with full participation will receive a certificate. The certificate may be used to claim the points according to the ASNT regulations.

The 40-hour training course will be both theoretical and practical, using both CR and DR technologies in Euroteck’s in-house X-ray facilities. Attendees will have the opportunity to develop techniques for the inspection of non-ferrous castings, aerospace components, including blades and pipe welds as well as carbon composites. This course will suit candidates new to CR and DR and also Level III practitioners who have already made the move from conventional radiography to digital radiography and are seeking a more in-depth understanding of the technology and its application. Each attendee will receive a folder with a complete set of course notes relating to the training and all of the topics covered. Attendees will also receive a limited-use version of the DÜRR D-Tect software for their own use. The cost of the course is £900 + VAT per attendee. Places are strictly limited and interested parties are encouraged to reserve their place as soon as possible by emailing sales@euroteck.co.uk
