Labino AB has brought to market an explosion-proof hand-held UV inspection light, MB Hercules Ex, which is in compliance with the ASTM E3022-15 standard, the Rolls-Royce RRES 90061 engineering specification and the Airbus AITM6-1001 (Issue 12) test method. Hercules Ex is a product specifically developed for use in areas where flammable materials are present and the risk of explosion is high or for any ‘heavy duty’ environment. Use of explosion-proof products is often required in offshore oil rigs, refineries, defence and aerospace applications.

Hercules Ex is a durable product and has successfully completed extremely tough tests, among them tests for thermal conditioning, impact tests, drop tests and IP tests that have led to the ATEX certification for Group II, Zone II, as well as NFPA 70, Article 500 for Class I (division II locations) and IECEx. In addition, MB Hercules Ex has successfully completed the US military tests MIL-STD-810F, Method 509.4 – Salt Fog Test, and MIL-STD 810G, Method 511.6 – Explosive Atmosphere Test.

Hercules Ex is available in a battery version and has four UV LEDs with an intensity of 4000 µW/cm2. A charger is supplied with each lamp, enabling users to recharge the batteries without removing them (charging of batteries should take place away from explosive atmospheres), and a certificate of conformity is provided with each purchase.
