Enhanced UT software

24/11/2020

Testia has released a new version of its best-selling software NDTkit UT, also known as Ultis, which is aimed at cutting costs and boosting efficiency.

NDTkit UT is a piece of automated software for processing data from various ultrasonic instruments. It was implemented as a result of the experience gained from over 15 years of constant specification by Airbus and development by Testia, along with the trust of very relevant aerospace players.

NDTkit UT can work as a common diagnosis tool and help with the challenging task of using acquisition data obtained from many devices, portable or fixed; the software simply needs to read the external file to start the analysis.

The automated analysis process aims at reducing the human factor and saving time. These were actually reported by existing users as key criteria to optimise production. The whole point of this is to relieve the operator from conducting redundant tasks, keeping the focus on key steps and offering optimal data analysis for defect detection.

An extra benefit given by the heritage of NDTkit UT/Ultis is that it enables users to read data during the whole life of aircraft or components. It is very important for users to be sure that software can read ultrasonic data acquired a long time ago and obtained from different technologies. Besides, industrial regulations demand that readable data is stored for 20 to 40 years. Testia supports NDTkit UT users by offering its experts and development team advisory capacities whenever new challenges appear.

With the new release, NDTkit UT is going beyond in its diagnosis support through key new features.
NDTkit UT works as a single diagnosis tool even if using various UT instruments, including new readers (such as Eddyfi Capture software and the Olympus Focus PX instrument) and new converters (such as AOS-NDT, Fill, ScanMaster, TechniTest NDT and UTEX).

Advanced processing tools include a continuous histogram function, an enhanced matching superposition tool, easier and quicker 3D data management, comparison of thickness measurements with 3D CAS files, an enhanced defect contouring envelope, automatic computation of A-scan gate amplitude threshold and a sub-defect screenshot function while reporting.

Its automated capabilities reduce the human factor and save time through ready-to-share reports in Excel format, in addition to Word, and a script display menu for better ergonomics.

Be it in aerospace or other industries, for either raw materials or component manufacturing, NDTkit UT is the Testia answer to place the experts at the heart of the decision, with the right tools, the right data and at the optimal speed.
