Composites Virtual Summit: a free online meeting place for the composites industry

15/09/2020

AMI has announced the launch of its free-to-attend Composites Virtual Summit, taking place 19-22 October 2020. This four-day online conference will bring together stakeholders from across the composites supply chain to discuss the key opportunities and challenges facing the industry.

Each day will be dedicated to a different sector: tooling for composites; composites in rail; composites in marine; and composite testing and analysis. Attendees will be able to dip in and out of presentations, which will also be available for 30 days on demand after the event.

Composites are increasingly being used to replace traditional materials. With this demand comes the need to accurately test, analyse and assess the lifetime performance of the materials and products. Day four of the Composites Virtual Summit – Composite Testing and Analysis – will mainly focus on the range of NDT methods used to characterise, test, monitor and understand failure mechanisms.

Experts from academia and industry will discuss the latest testing and analysis techniques for both thermoplastic and thermoset composites. The event will also invite end-users to discuss future requirements and potential issues that can be addressed through testing. The scope of the programme will cover materials, products, case studies, regulations and more.

The Composites Virtual Summit will allow attendees to learn about new developments in testing and tooling and applications for the rail and marine industry, all from the safety of home or the office. Companies confirmed include: National Composites Centre (NCC), Williams Advanced Engineering, Cecence, University of Bristol, CMT, Bombardier Transportation, Oxford Brookes Racing and the AFRC.
