Glacier Energy Services, a leading international provider of specialist products, services and engineering solutions for energy infrastructure, has appointed Tom Gollan as Director of its Inspection Services division.

Tom, who has over 40 years’ experience working in senior engineering, project management and construction roles, will oversee the international growth of Glacier’s inspection business, which specialises in conventional and advanced NDT services to support the safety and integrity of maturing assets, energy infrastructure and new-build energy projects.

Prior to joining Glacier, Tom carried out consultancy work for several years based on his extensive experience across the oil & gas, renewables, petrochemical and power generation industries.

Scott Martin, Glacier’s Group CEO, said: “We are delighted to have Tom on board at this exciting stage in our growth journey. Tom brings a wealth of experience that will supplement the skills, expertise and knowledge of our existing team members, who are very well regarded in their specialist technical fields.

“Tom’s appointment marks our strategic intent to continue growing our inspection capability and capture further growth opportunities in both new and existing markets as we look to strengthen our market position.”

Tom added: “Glacier’s Inspection Services team has a strong heritage and an outstanding track record, coupled with some of the best capabilities and experience in our field. I feel privileged to have joined the team and look forward to playing a part in the company’s ongoing success as we look to grow our inspection business both in the UK and internationally.”

At the core of the Glacier brand is the company’s deep-rooted capability amassed through the acquisition of some of the most technical and reputable brands in the industry. Formed in 2011, the company’s mission was to create a fresh alternative in energy services, providing customers with world-class technologies, exceptional service and enhanced value, all from one integrated provider.

In 2014, Glacier acquired Professional Testing Services (PTS), an industry leader in terms of NDT and inspection services. This acquisition complemented Glacier’s existing range of services and opened up new opportunities for both repair and maintenance and in the support of new-build fabrication and assembly projects in the oil & gas, renewables and power generation industries.

Today, Glacier Energy Services is made up of four divisions: heat transfer solutions, welding solutions, on-site machining solutions and inspection and NDT services. Operating throughout the UK, the company has a growing international presence with strategic partners operating in the Middle East, Caspian region and USA.
